Our Mission

Our mission is to help clients maintain financial viability in the present, while taking a proactive approach to achieve future goals. This requires open communication to reach an understanding of our clients' needs through research and sound analysis. MASWEN, P.C. CPAs is dedicated to meeting these goals with high standards of excellence and professionalism. We have been a staple of the area's business community for years, and pride ourselves on the level of esteem we have earned.

MASWEN, P.C. is a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm owned by Mark and Wendy Smith. The name MASWEN is derived from the initials Mark Alan Smith and Wendy.

We have practiced public accounting together since January 2003. Laney and Avery are our two daughters.

Mark is a 1994 graduate of the University of Alabama, Culverhouse School of Accountancy and has practiced in public accounting since 1995. Mark has served on various boards and agencies throughout the county. He has completed a Masters of Divinity Degree (MDiv) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Wendy is a 1994 graduate of Auburn University, School of Business and has practiced in public accounting since 1995. She, as well, has served on various boards throughout the county. In her spare time she enjoys reading.

Every year, we each maintain 40 hours of continuing education per our state and American Institute licensing and membership requirements. We also participate in a firm peer review program every three years as part of our licensing and professional memberships.
